Marie-Josèphe Chiasson was born on 1 November 1738 at St-Pierre-du-Nord, Île Saint-Jean (now Prince Edward's Island), New France.1 She was the daughter of François Chiasson and Anne Doucet. In the 1752 Census, Marie-Josèphe was recorded, age 12, living in the household of François Chiasson and Anne Doucet at Anse-aux-Sauvages, Île Saint-Jean (now Prince Edward's Island), New France; François Chiasson, ploughman, native of l'Acadie, aged 60 years, he has been 25 years in the country. Married to Anne Dousset, native of l'Acadie, aged 48 years.
Marie-Josèphe Chiasson, age 19, married Michel Grossin, age 23 , son of Pierre Grossin and Cécile Caissie, on 10 January 1758 at St-Pierre-du-Nord, Île Saint-Jean (now Prince Edward's Island), New France.1 Marie-Josèphe Chiasson died on 7 June 1759 at Paramé, Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, France, at age 20.1
