Joseph Poirier dit Lantime was born circa 1737 at Beaubassin, Colony of Nova Scotia, British North America.1 He was the son of Joseph Poirier and Jeanne Gaudet.1 In the 1752 Census, Joseph was recorded, age 15, living in the household of Joseph Poirier and Jeanne Gaudet at Port-Toulouse, Île Royale (now Cape Breton), Colony of Nova Scotia, British North America; They have been in the colony two years and have been granted rations for that time.1
