     Phillip Gustaf Adulph Johnson Jr. was born on 8 January 1930 at Orange, Massachusetts.1,2 He was the son of Phillip Gustaf Adulph Johnson and Marion J. Moore. Phillip graduated from New Salem Academy in 1947, at New Salem, Massachusetts.2

Phillip Gustaf Adulph Johnson Jr., age 21, married Kathryn May French, age 18 , daughter of Harold Floyd French and Grace Ella Ward, on 28 October 1951 at Orange, Massachusetts. At Kathryn's parent's home.3,1 Phillip Gustaf Adulph Johnson Jr. died on 25 December 2002 at Athol Memorial Hospital, Athol, Massachusetts, at age 72 from a heart attack.2 Phillip's obituary of 27 December 2002, reads:

He began farming at the age of six when his parents purchased the Wheeler Avenue farm.
He produced maple syrup for more than 60 years. In recent years he expanded the sugarhouse, purchased new equipment and produced a wide variety of maple products. He also operated a dairy farm until 1992 and had since raised heifers on the farm. A member of the Massachusetts Maple Producers Association and Vermont Maple Producers, he was known throughout New England for his expertise in maple production. In conjunction with his farm he sold cordwood, hay, and for many years, had a snow plowing service.2



He was buried on 28 December 2002 at Jones Cemetery, Orange, Massachusetts.2
