Pierre Babin dit La Croix was christened on 8 November 1663 at Saint-Didier, Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France.1
Pierre Babin dit La Croix, age 27, married Marie-Madeleine Richaume, age 19 , daughter of Pierre Richaume and Marie-Marthe Arnus, on 21 August 1691 at Notre-Dame-de-Montréal Paroisse, Montréal, Québec, New France.1 In an act by the notary Genaple of 7 November 1700, it is written tht "The business of Sir Babin and his wife obliies them to withdraw from this country to France." Pierre went back to France, and did not return as no trace has been found of him. His wife, Marie-Madeleine appears not to have left with him, as she had two children by an unknown father in 1703 and 1709.1
