     Jonathan Hutchins was christened on 22 September 1728 at Kittery, Maine.1 He was the son of Jonathan Hutchins and Judith Weeks.1 Jonathan was known to be living in 1745 at York, Maine.1 He and Elizabeth Higgins filed marriage intentions on 3 May 1746 at York, Maine.2

Jonathan Hutchins married Elizabeth Higgins, daughter of John Higgins and Mary Bowden.1 Jonathan was known to be living in 1779 at Fryeburgh, Maine.3 He joined on 11 June 1780 Capt. Josiah Davis' Company, Col. Joseph Prime's Regiment as a private. He was discharged 8 December 1780. He later joined Lt. Nathaniel Hutching's detachment, and marched on 12 August 1781 for the defense of eastern Massachusetts. He was discharged 25 august 1781. He was a sergant in Lt. Stephen Farington's Company enlisting on 22 July 1782, and being discharged on 3 September 1782. in defense of York and Comberland Counties. He was stationed in Sudbury-Canada.4 He died in 1790 at Fryeburgh, Maine.
