William Reed was born on 2 September 1662.1 He was the son of George Reed and Elizabeth ______.1 He settled in Cambridge Farms, now Lexington ; and was a great landholder in Cambridge Farms, Woburn, and Billerica. He held a justice's commission, and was also a military captain, but was generally called Capt. Read.1
William Reed, age 23, married Abigail Kendall on 24 May 1686.1 He was one of the board of selectmen chosen the first year after the incorporation of the town in 1713.1 William Reed died on 12 May 1718 at Lexington, Massachusetts, at age 55.1
