Daniel Lancaster was born on 13 November 1693 at Amesbury, Massachusetts.2,3 He was the son of Joseph Lancaster and Elizabeth Hoyt.2
Daniel Lancaster, age 20, married Dameris Gould, age 19 , daughter of Samuel Gould and Sarah Rowell, on 19 January 1713/14 at Amesbury, Massachusetts.1,2,4,3
The lived for a time in Haverhill, Massachusetts, then moved to Methuen, Massachusetts.3 Daniel and Damerismoved to Georgetown, Maine, in 1738 in that part which later became Woolwich.3 According to Ware (1934) "A letter of Daniel to the leading land proprietor reveals some difficulties in the beginning. He had asked for land for himself and sons and seemed to feel that promises made to him had not been fulfilled. "Remember," he warned, "you have a soul to save." apparently the land question was satisfactorily settled for the plan of survey of May, 1740, shows his house already built and occupied, lot number thirty-four, east side of the Nequasset River.3" Daniel was known to be living in 1767 at Andover, Maine.5 Daniel wrote his will. His son, Joseph, was the sole executor of his will, and Joseph enherited the homestead.3 He died on 31 December 1780 at Woolwich, Maine, at age 87.3
