     Étienne Benoît was christened on 25 December 1662 in the Montréal, Québec, New France.1,2 He was the son of Paul Benoît dit Livernois and Élisabeth Gobinet dite Isabelle. Étienne, a voyageur, was out west from 28 August 1689 to 10 April 1696.1

Étienne Benoît, age 36, married Jeanne Campeau, age 19 , daughter of Étienne Campeau and Catherine Paulo, on 3 February 1699 at the Montréal, Québec, New France.
