     Edward Treadwell was born on 20 December 1607 at Swalcliffe, Oxfordshire, England.2

Edward Treadwell married Sarah Howes, daughter of Robert Howes and Priscilla Wright, in 1637 at the Huntington, Suffolk County (Long Island), Province of New York.1,3 He was granted six acres for planting in Ipswich, Massachusetts Bay Colony, 5 February 1637.4 In 20 August 1638, he owned a house lot in the town on the lower side of High Street in Ipswich, Massachusetts Bay Colony.4 Edwardmoved to Colony of New Haven in 1639. His name last appears in the Ipswich records on 11 March 1639.4 At the town meeting in Branford, Colony of New Haven, held on 16 September 1646, he was mentioned regarding the building of a fence around the town.4 At the town meeting in Branford, Colony of New Haven, held on 8 November 1646, he voted for the imposition of a fine for people who did not attend the town meetings and for a reward for the killing of wolves.4 At the town meeting in Branford, Colony of New Haven, held on 4 April 1648, he voted for an allotment of land.4 In 8 October 1649 in Hashamommuck, Southold, Long Island, Colony of New Haven, he was one of the grantees on a conveyance of land.4 In 1660 Edward lived at Huntington, Long Island, Colony of New Haven.4 His estate was inventoried on 30 January 1660/61 at Huntington, Long Island, Colony of New Haven, and valued at £285.4
