     Jean Babineau was born circa 1660 at Soudan, Loire-Atlantique, Pays de la Loire, France.1,3,2,4 He was the son of Antoine-Joseph Babineau and Marie Mercier.2

Jean Babineau married Marguerite Boudrot, daughter of Lieutenant-General Michel Boudrot and Madeleine-Michèle Aucoin, circa 1691 at the Port-Royal, Acadia, New France.1,5,3,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 Jean and Marguerite appeared on the Census of 1693 at Port-Royal, Acadia, New France. 44 .3,11 Jean took the oath of allegiance to the King of England.3,13 Jean and Marguerite appeared on the Census of 1698 at Port-Royal, Acadia, New France. 50 .3,11 Jean and Marguerite appeared on the Census of 1700 at Port-Royal, Acadia, New France. 51 .3,11 Jean and Marguerite appeared on the Census of 1701 at Port-Royal, Acadia, New France. 50 .3,11 2 December 1705, he was among the men who assessed the properties expropriated for the extension of the fort.3,11 Jean Babineau died on 5 September 1741 at Annapolis Royal, Colony of Nova Scotia, British North America.1,3,2 Jean was buried on 6 September 1741 at Garrison Graveyard, Annapolis Royal, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, Canada.3
