Charles Wilkin Sweet was born on 25 October 1894 at Montgomery, Orange County, New York.3,4 He was the son of Frederick F. Sweet and Mary Wilkin.2 Charles, age 6, appeared on the US Census of 1900 living at Hamptonburgh, Orange County, New York,in the household of his widowed mother, Mary Sweet.4 Charles, age 16, appeared on the US Census of 1910 living at Middletown, Orange County, New York,in the household of his widowed mother, Mary Sweet.5 He served 3½ in the New York National Guard.6
Charles Wilkin Sweet, age 19, married Anne Theresa Travis, age 17 , daughter of George William Travis and Margaret E. Sexton, on 5 November 1913 at the Webb Memorial Presbyterian Church, Middletown, Orange County, New York.
Charles, age 20 years, and Anne, age 18 years , appeared on the New York State Census of 1915 at Middletown, Orange County, New York.8 On 5 June 1917, Charles registered for the World War I draft, while living at 9 Montgomery Street, Montgomery, Orange County, New York, giving his age as 24 and his employer as The Ideal Uhapping Piperfiter.6
Charles, age 25 years, and Anne, age 23 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 on 95 East Main Street, Middletown, Orange County, New York, Charles' mother lived with them.9 Charles, age 30 years, and Anne, age 28 years , appeared on the New York State Census of 1925 at Middletown, Orange County, New York.10 Charles and Annemoved to Hartford, Connecticut, in 1929.11,12 Charles, age 35 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 on 12 Mulberry Street, Middletown, Orange County, New York, as a lodger. According to the Federal Census in 1930, Charles was a radiator repair mechanic.12 He died on 8 August 1933 at Hartford, Connecticut, at age 38.13,14
