Rita Marie Connors
     Rita Marie Connors was born on 15 January 1922 at Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.3,4,5,6 She was the daughter of Martin Leo Connors and Rita M. Rogers.2 Rita, age 8, appeared on the US Census of 1930 living at 45 William Street, Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania,in the household of her parents, Martin Leo and Rita M. Connors.7 Rita, age 18, appeared on the US Census of 1940 living at 45 William Street, Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania,in the household of her parents, Martin Leo and Rita M. Connors.8 As of 17 July 1943,her married name was Clark.1

Rita Marie Connors, age 21, married Thomas F. Clark, age 23 , son of Major William Aloysious Clark and Rose C. Daley, on 17 July 1943 at the Gesu Roman Catholic Church, Miami, Dade County, Florida.

The marriage of Miss Rita Marie Connors, daughter of Mrs. Martin L. Connors, 45 William St., Pittston, to Lt. (jg) Thomas F Clark, son of Maj. and Mrs. William A. Clark, 298 Monument Ave., Wyoming, was performed Saturday in the Jesu Romany Catholic Church, Miami, the Rev. James J. Carberry, chaplain, U. S. Navy. The Rev. James A. Greely, S. J., Jesu Church, officiated at the , nuptial mass.

Miss Margaret M. Clark, sister of the bridegroom, and Lt. Percy Sandel, U. S. Navy, were the attendants,

Mrs. Clark, whose father was the late Dr. Connors, is a graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston, and she attended College Misericordia, Dallas. She was employed as secretary by the Bendix Aviation Corporation, Philadelphia. Lieutenant Clark is a graduate of Wyoming Seminary, Kingston, and the University of Scranton. He entered service in 1941, and he 'was commissioned ensign Jan. 16, 1942. Advanced to lieutenant in March, 1943, he' recently completed a 10-month tour of foreign duty as commander of an SC. submarine chaser.

Major and Mrs. Clark attended the wedding.

Rita, age 27 years, and Thomas Clark, age 30 years, appeared on the US Census of 1950 at 350 Reynolds Stree, Kingston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.2 Rita died on 7 July 1979 at home on Bethlehem, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, at age 57.3,4,5,6 Rita's obituary of 9 July 1979, reads:

Rita M. Connors Clark, 57, of 24 E. Market St., Bethlehem, died Saturday at her home.

Born in Pittston, a daughter of the late Dr. Martin L. and Margaret Roggers Connors, she was a member of St. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Bethlehem, and the Ladies Aid Society of St, Lukes' Hospital.

Her son, Eugene, died in Nov. 1967.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas F. Sr; sons, Thomas F. Jr., Monroeville; John, Bethlehem; Robert, Philadelphia; daughter, Margaret, at home; brothers, John T., Whitehall; Thomas, James, Martin L. Jr., all of Baltimore, Md; sisters, Mrs. Francis Lawler, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Bernard •
Borr, Pittsburgh; three grandchildren.

Funeral will be Tuesday at 9 from Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Simon and Jude Church. Interment, Holy Savior Cemetery, Bethlehem. Friends may call Monday 7 to 9.
