     Hugh Tracy was born circa 1828 at Ireland.1 He and Ann Tracy immigrated on 25 July 1846 to the United States arriving in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on board the Jane Augusta, having sailed from Londonderry, Ireland with their five sons.2

Hugh Tracy married Ann Hannon.3 Hugh appeared on the US Census of 1850 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.4 According to the Federal Census in 1850, Hugh was a shoemaker.4 Hugh and Ann appeared on the US Census of 1860 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.1 According to the Canadian Census in 1860, Hugh was a driver.1 Hugh was a shoemaker in 1877.5 In 1877, the year Hugh died, he lived at 1026 Wharten Street, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.5 He died on 31 August 1877 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.6,5 He was buried on 4 September 1877 at Cathedral Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.5
