     John Hill was born circa 1630 at Chard, Somersetshire, England.1,2,3 He was the son of John Hill and Frances Tilden.

John Hill married Hannah Johnson circa 1653 at Massachusetts.3,4,1 In 1657, he joined a group who purchased a large tract of land from the Indians beyond Medfield, which later became Sherborn.3,4

John Hill married Elizabeth Thorpe, daughter of Henry Thorpe, circa 1693 at Sherborn, Massachusetts.1,3 John wrote his will on 10 December 1717 at Sherborn, Massachusetts. He mentions his children: Abigail and her husband, James Adams; Samuel; Ebenezer; John; Elazar; and Mary.3 He died on 23 January 1717/18 at Sherborn, Massachusetts.1,2,3,4,5
