     Sarah Whitney was born on 26 February 1741 at Roxbury, Massachusetts.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Jonas Whitney and Sarah Perry.

Sarah Whitney, age 32, married Deacon Nehemiah Ward, age 22 , son of Timothy Ward and Margaret Woodward, on 4 October 1773 at Newton, Massachusetts. Sarah was the sister of Desire, who married Nehemiah's brother, Edward.4,5,6,1,7,8,9,10,2 Sarah and Nehemiahmoved to Athol, Massachusetts, in 1774. They lived in that part of Athol which became Orange.1 Sarah Whitney died on 28 September 1824 at Orange, Massachusetts, at age 83.1,2,11
