Jacob Leonard was born circa 1647 at Duxbury, Plymouth Colony.1,2 He was the son of Solomon Leonard and Mary ______.
Jacob Leonard married Phebe Chandler, daughter of Roger Chandler of Taunton and Isabelle Chilton, before 1670 at Weymouth, Massachusetts.1,3,4 According to Jennings (1899):
Jacob Leonard married Susanna King, daughter of Samuel King and Experience Phillips, before 1680.4 In a list of house lots in Worcester, Massachusetts compiled 11 November 1686, Jacob is listed.7 He was warned out in 1693.5 Jacob wrote his will on 14 December 1716. mentioning his wife, Susanna, and his children: Abigail, Susanna, Experience, Mary, Sarah, Solomon, and Jacob.5,8 He died in 1716 at Duxbury, Massachusetts.5,2 He was buried at Standish Burial Ground, Duxbury, Massachusetts.2 His will was proved on 19 December 1717 at Plymouth County, Massachusetts.8

"The tradition is that he was with the earliest settlers of 'Quinsigamond' (Worcester); if so, he was driven off as were the others, by the Indians in 1675. The family may have tarried for a while in Marlborough, but probably during most of King Philip's War were in Bridgewater, as that was considered more secure from the attacks of the Indians than the newer towns.
Possibly they may have lived a short time in Mendon, but on the second attempt to settle Quinsigamond, now named Worcester, in 1684-5 we find him and his family located in the vicinity of what is now called Quinsigamond Lake. They were, however, so troubled by the raids of the Indians, that them became discouraged and removed to Bridgewater about May 1, 1693, for the town records show that at this date they were 'warned out.1,5,6'"
