Florenz IV , Count of Holland

     Florenz IV , Count of Holland was born on 24 June 1210 at The Hague, Netherlands.^1,2 He was the son of William I , Count of Holland and East Friesland and Adelaide of Guelders. Florenz's name was also spelt Florent.¹ Florenz became, in 1222, the Count of Holland.¹

Florenz IV , Count of Holland, age 14, married Matilda of Brabant , Countess of Holland, daughter of Henry I the Courageous , Duke of Brabant and Matilda of Bloulogne, on 6 December 1224. Matilda was Floris' step-aunt.^3,2 Florenz became, in 1226, the Count of Sealand.¹ In 1234 Floris fought in the crusade against the Stedinger north of Bremen.² He was killed on 19 July 1234 at Corbie, France, at age 24 in a tournament.²
