     Florenz IV , Count of Holland was born on 24 June 1210 at The Hague, Netherlands.1,2 He was the son of William I , Count of Holland and East Friesland and Adelaide of Guelders. Florenz's name was also spelt Florent.1 Florenz became, in 1222, the Count of Holland.1

Florenz IV , Count of Holland, age 14, married Matilda of Brabant , Countess of Holland, daughter of Henry I the Courageous , Duke of Brabant and Matilda of Bloulogne, on 6 December 1224. Matilda was Floris' step-aunt.3,2 Florenz became, in 1226, the Count of Sealand.1 In 1234 Floris fought in the crusade against the Stedinger north of Bremen.2 He was killed on 19 July 1234 at Corbie, France, at age 24 in a tournament.2
