René Blanchard was born on 6 May 1677 at Port-Royal, Acadia, New France.1,2 He was the son of Martin Blanchard and Françoise LeBlanc. In the 1686 US Census, René was recorded, age 9, living in Port-Royal, Acadia, New France.2 In the 1693 US Census, René was recorded, age 16, living in Port-Royal, Acadia, New France.2 In the 1698 US Census, René was recorded, age 20, living in Port-Royal, Acadia, New France.2
René Blanchard married Anne Landry, daughter of René Landry and Marie Bernard, circa 1700.2,3 In the 1700 US Census, René was recorded, age 23, living in Port-Royal, Acadia, New France.2 He died on 3 December 1754 at Annapolis Royal, Colony of Nova Scotia, British North America, at age 77.1 He is buried at Garrison Graveyard, Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, Canada.1
