     Saint Louis IX , King of France was born on 25 April 1215 at Poissy, Île-de-France, France.1,2,3,4 He was the son of Louis VIII the Lion , King of France and Blanche of Castile , Princess of Castile, Queen of France. Louis was crowned the King of France in 1226.1 Starting in 1227, Blanche of Castile, his mother, served as regent during his minority.

Saint Louis IX , King of France, age 19, married Margerite of Provence, daughter of Raymond IV Berenger , Count of Provence and Forcalquier and Beatrix of Savoy , Countess of Provence, on 27 May 1234 at Sens, Brittany, France.1,2,3,4,5 Saint Louis IX , King of France died on 25 August 1270 at nea Tunis at age 55.1,2,3,4 He was buried at Basilica of Saint-Denis, Saint-Denis, Seine-Saint-Denis, Île-de-France, France.1 Louis was canonized by Pope Boniface VIII on 11 August 1297.1
