Roger II de Montgomery ~ Earl of Shrewsbury was the son of Roger I the Great de Montgomery ~ Vicomte de la Hiesmois et Sire de Montgomery and Josceline of Pont-Audemer. Roger II de Montgomery's full titles were the Earl of Shropshire and Shrewsbury; the Vicomte d'Hiemois; Sire d'Alencon, Sées, Belleme, and Trun.
Roger II de Montgomery ~ Earl of Shrewsbury married Mabel Talvas de Alençon ~ Dame d'Alencon and Sées, daughter of William II Talvas and Hildeburge, in 1048.1,2
He founded the Abbey of Shrewsbury in 1053.1 Roger became, in 1066, the Earl of Shropshire and Shrewsbury.1 Roger was created, on 25 December 1067, the Lord of Arundel and Chichester.1 He died on 27 July 1094 at Shrewsbury Abbey, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England, a monk.1,2 He was buried at Shrewsbury Abbey, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.2
