     Siward the Great Biornasson ~ Earl of Northumbria, Northampton, and Huntingdon was born circa 1020 at Denmark.1 He was the son of Biorn Ulfiusson , Jarl of Denmark. Siward the Great Biornasson ~ Earl of Northumbria, Northampton, and Huntingdon was also known as Digera.1 He came to England with the Danish invaders.1

Siward the Great Biornasson ~ Earl of Northumbria, Northampton, and Huntingdon married Ælflæd II of Northumberland, daughter of Aldred of Bernicia.1,2 He conquered Macbeth, and placed Malcolm, his son-m-law, on the throne of Scotland.3 Siward the Great Biornasson ~ Earl of Northumbria, Northampton, and Huntingdon died in 1055 at York, Yorkshire, England, When he was about to die, he arose from his bed, and arrayed himself in his richest and best armor, saying, "It was a shame for a warrior to die in his bed."3
