     Sir Roger de Beaumont , Siegneur of Beaumont was born circa 1022 at Normandy, France.1 He was the son of Humphrey de Vielles , Seigneur de Pont Audemer del la Haie and Aubrée de la Haye. Sir Roger de Beaumont , Siegneur of Beaumont was also known as Roger de Bello Monte.1,2,3 Roger de Beaumont's full titles were the Siegneur of Beaumont, de Brionne and Pont-Audemer.1

Sir Roger de Beaumont , Siegneur of Beaumont married Adeline de Meulan, daughter of Waleran III de Meulan , Count of Meulan and Oda de Conteville, in 1040.1,2,3,4,5 He was a companion of William the Conqueror, having financed 60 ships for the invasion. During the invasion, he remained in Normandy as the main adviser to the Duchess Maud, who governed in William's absence.1,4 Morcar was placed in Roger's custody as a prisoner by King William in 1071. He became a monk at Préaux Abbey shortly after 1090. Sir Roger de Beaumont , Siegneur of Beaumont died on 29 November 1094.1,4 He was buried on 9 December 1094 at Préaux Abbey, Les Préaux, Normandy, France.4
