     Robert de Burgo ~ Count of Mortain, Earl of Cornwall was born in 1031 at Normandy, France.1 He was the son of Herluin , Viscount of Conteville and Herleva de Falaise. Robert de Burgo ~ Count of Mortain, Earl of Cornwall was also known as Robert de Mortain.2

Robert de Burgo ~ Count of Mortain, Earl of Cornwall married Maud de Montgomery, daughter of Roger II de Montgomery ~ Earl of Shrewsbury and Mabel Talvas d'Alençon ~ Dame d'Alençon and Sées, before 1066.2,1,3 He was a companion of William the Conqueror, his half-brother, at the Battle of Hastings on 14 October 1066.2,1,4 Robert de Burgo ~ Count of Mortain, Earl of Cornwall died in 1095. He was buried at Grestain Abbey, Fatouville-Grestain, Eure, Normandy, France.2,3
