William I , Count of Holland and East Friesland was born circa 1174.1 He was the son of Florenz III ~ Count of Holland and West Sealand; Earl of Ros and Ada of Huntington.
William I , Count of Holland and East Friesland married Adelaide of Guelders, daughter of Otto I ~ Count of Guelders, Zutphen, Holland, and East Friesland and Richardis von Wittlesbach, in 1198.1 He fought in the Imperial Army at Bovines in 1215. William then went on a Crusade from 1215 to 1219.1 William I , Count of Holland and East Friesland died on 2 July 1222.1
