Henry I ~ Count of Guelders and Zutphen was born in 1117.1 He was the son of Gerard II ~ Count of Guelders and Ermengard. Henry I along with his parents granted a Charter donating a chapel at Ellekom to the church at Zutphen between 1129 and 1138.
Henry I ~ Count of Guelders and Zutphen married Agnes von Arnstein, daughter of Ludwig II and Udalheid of Odenkirchen, in 1135.1 He built a castle at Zutphen.1 Henry I ~ Count of Guelders and Zutphen died in 1182.1
