     Giselbert , Duke of Lorraine was born circa 890 at France.1 He was the son of Regnier II Longhals ~ Count of Hainaut and Burgundy and Adelaide of Burgundy. Giselbert was appointed in 915 Lay Abbot of Echternach in Luxembourg, which office he held until his death.1 Giselbert succeeded his father as the Count of Hainault in 916.2 Giselbert became, in 928, the Duke of Lorraine.1

Giselbert , Duke of Lorraine married Gerberga of Saxony, daughter of Henry I the Fowler ~ Holy Roman Emperor and Saint Mechtilde von Ringelheim, in 929.1,2,3,4 Giselbert , Duke of Lorraine died on 2 October 939 at Echternach, France, now Luxembourg.1,2
