William III the Great ~ Comte de Poitou was born circa 969.1,2 He was the son of William II Bras de Fer ~ Comte de Poitou and Emma of Blois. William III the Great ~ Comte de Poitou was also known as William V , Duke of Aquitaine.

William III the Great ~ Comte de Poitou married Agnes of Burgundy , Princess of Lombardy, daughter of Otto William ~ King of Lombardy, Comte de Burgundy et Mâcon and Ermentrude de Roucy ~ Queen of Lombardy, Countess of Mâcon, in 1019.1 In later life he became a monk.1 William III the Great ~ Comte de Poitou died on 31 January 1030.
