     Ealdgyth of Mercia was born circa 1034 at Kingdom of Mercia.1 She was the daughter of Alfgar ~ Earldorman of East Anglia and Elfleda. Ealdgyth's name was also spelt Edith of Mercia.2

Ealdgyth of Mercia married Gruffydd ap Llewelyn, son of Llywelyn ap Seisyllt and Angharad verch Maredydd, circa 1058.3,4,5

Ealdgyth of Mercia married Harold II Godwinsson ~ King of England, son of Godwine ~ Ealdorman of Wessex and Theign of Sussex and Gytha Thorkelsdóttir, in 1064 or March 1066.4,5 After the death of Harold in 1066, Edith went into exile on the Continent.2 Ealdgyth of Mercia died in 1070.2
