     Saint Irene of Hungary was born in 1088.1,2 She was the daughter of Saint Ladislas I , King of Hungary and Adelaide of Rheinfelden ~ Queen of Hungary. Her birth name was Piroska, but following her conversion to the Eastern Orthodox Church and settlement in Constantinople, Piroska was renamed Irene.2

Saint Irene of Hungary married Iohannes II Komnenos , Emperor of the East, son of Alexios I Komnenos , Emperor of the East and Irene Ducas Augusta, in 1104.1,2 Saint Irene of Hungary died on 13 August 1134 at Bithynia, Empire of the East, as a nun.1,2
