Saint Irene of Hungary was born in 1088.1,2 She was the daughter of Saint Ladislas I , King of Hungary and Adelaide of Rheinfelden ~ Queen of Hungary. Her birth name was Piroska, but following her conversion to the Eastern Orthodox Church and settlement in Constantinople, Piroska was renamed Irene.2
