Boto the Bold von Botenstein married Judith von Schweinfurt, daughter of Otto III von Schweinfurt , Duke of Swabia and Ermengarde of Susa, after 1055.1 Boto founded the monastery of Theres on his lands north of the Danube. He was enfieffed in Bavaria as a liege of the dukes of Bavaria. He fought the Hungarians who captured him. His name was given to Botenstein Castle in Frankish Switzerland.1 Boto the Bold von Botenstein died on 1 March 1104.1
