     Conrad II the Salic ~ Holy Roman Emperor was born in 990 at Burgundy, France.1,2,3 He was the son of Henry of Franconia ~ Count of Speyergau and Adelaide of Alsace.

Conrad II the Salic ~ Holy Roman Emperor married Gisela of Swabia, daughter of Hermann II ~ Duke of Swabia and Gerberga of Burgundy ~ Princess de Haute-Bourgogne, in 1017. This was Conrad's third marriage, the first two are unknown.4,2,5,6,1,7 Conrad was crowned the King of Burgundy in 1024.2,6,3,7 Conrad was crowned the King of Germany in 1026.2,6,3,7 Conrad was crowned the King of Italy in 1027.2,6,3,7 Conrad was crowned the Holy Roman Emperor by Pope John XIX on 26 March 1027.3 Upon the death of the childless King Rudolph III of Burgundy in 1032, Conrad claimed dominion over the Kingdom of the Two Burgundies, conquered it and incorporated it into the empire.3 He died on 4 June 1039 at Utrecht, Netherlands.4,1,2,5,6,3,7 He was buried on 14 June 1039 at Speyer Cathedral, Speyer, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.1,2
