Regnier was known to be living between 877 and 886.1 Regnier was appointed in 897, the Lay Abbot of Echternach in Luxembourg, which office he held until his death.2 Regnier became, in 900, he Duke of Lorraine.2,1 He died before 19 January 915.2,3
