Welf II , Count of Altdorf was born circa 965.1 He was the son of Rudolph II , Count of the Swabian Altforf and Itha von Oeningen. Welf II's full titles were the Count of Altdorf and the Count in the Lechrain.1
Welf II , Count of Altdorf married Ermentrude of Luxemburg, daughter of Frederick I ~ Count of Luxembourg and Ermentrude von Gleiberg, circa 1015.1 He founded the Monastery of Ravensburg.1 In 1020, he was an adherent of Bishop Werner of Strasburg and Duke Ernst of Swabia.1 Welf II , Count of Altdorf died on 10 March 1030 at Altdorf bei Nürnberg, Bavaria, Germany.1
