     Æthelwulf ~ King of Wessex was born circa 806 at Kingdom of Wessex.1,2 He was the son of Egbert ~ King of England and Rædburh.

Æthelwulf ~ King of Wessex married Osburh, daughter of Oslac , the Royal Cup-Bearer, circa 830.1,3,2 Æthelwulf was crowned the King of Wessex in 839.1,3,2 He traveled to in 839 at Rome.1 The marriage of Æthelwulf ~ King of Wessex and Osburh was annulled in 853.1,2 Æthelwulf abdicated on 1 October 856 in favor of his son Æthelbald after returning from a lengthy pilgrimage.2

Æthelwulf ~ King of Wessex married Judith of France ~ Princess of France, Queen of Wessex and England, daughter of Charles II the Bald ~ Holy Roman Emperor and King of France and Ermentrude of Orléans, on 1 October 856 at Verberie, France.1,2,4 Æthelwulf ~ King of Wessex died on 13 January 858.1,3,2 He was buried at Winchester Cathedral, Winchester, Hampshire, England.2
