     William Kenneth Sahr was born on 25 May 1921 at Corliss, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.1,2,3,4,5 He was the son of Louis Leo Sahr and Elizabeth Eleanor Pschirer. William, age 8, appeared on the US Census of 1930 living at 2620 Glasgow Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, Louis Leo and Elizabeth Eleanor Sahr.6 William, age 19, appeared on the US Census of 1940 living at 2620 Glasgow Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, Louis Leo and Elizabeth Eleanor Sahr.7 On on 16 February 1942, William registered for the World War II draft, while living at 2620 Glasgow Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, giving his age as 20 and his employer as Lockhart Iron & Steel.3 He served in the Army during World War II, enlisteing 30 November 1942 and being discharged 17 November 1945. He served overseas.2,5,8 He and Rita M. Colaianne obtained a marriage license on 29 April 1943 at Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.9

William Kenneth Sahr, age 21, married Rita M. Colaianne, age 18 , daughter of John Colaianne and Marie Baker, on 22 May 1943 at the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
