     Louis II the German , King of East Franks was born in 806.1,2,3 He was the son of Louis I the Pious ~ Holy Roman Emperor and Ermengarde of Hesbaye. Louis was crowned the King of Bavaria in 817.2

Louis II the German , King of East Franks married Emma of Bavaria, daughter of Welf I , Count in the Argengau and the Linzgau and Heilwig.1,3 Louis was crowned the King of the East Franks in 843.1 By the Treaty of Verdun in 843, the Carolingian Empire was divided into three kingdoms, with Charles the Bald receiving the West Frankish Kingdom, Lothar receiving the Kingdom of Lothar, and Louis the German receiving the East Frankish Kingdom.2 He died on 28 August 876.1,3,2
