Ranulf I ~ Comte de Poitou et Duc d'Aquitaine was born in 820.1 He was the son of Gerhard ~ Comte d'Auvergne and Hildegarde of Francia.
Ranulf I ~ Comte de Poitou et Duc d'Aquitaine married Bilihilde or another daughter of Maine, daughter of Rorick II , Count of Maine and Beatrix of Hainaut, circa 845.1,2 Ranulf became, circa 852, the Duke of Aquitaine.2 Ranulf was killed in battle in October 866 at Brissarthe, France, by the Normans.2,1
