Adam Albert Sahr was born on 21 February 1886 at Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Albert M. Sahr and Margaret Elizabeth Merdian.
Adam Albert Sahr, age 22, married Hazel Louise Boston, age 21 , daughter of Robert William Boston and Marie Harris, on 19 August 1908 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Evanston.
Adam and an unknown person wedding announcement of 20 August 1908, reads:
Just married. O my!" printed on a sign that was attached to the tonneau of an automobile attracted attention to a kidnaped bridegroom in Evanston and Wilmette last evening. Albert S. Adams was the victim of the joke. His bride was Miss Hazel Boston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boston, 925 Asbury avenue. Evanston.
Following the ceremony at St. Mary's Roman Catholic church. the entire party went by automobiles to Wilmette. where a wedding supper r had been prepared at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Leyner. Just as the guests were about to be seated Adams was called to the door and quickly carried away in a waiting machine.
After an hour the captive was returned and the feast proceeded. During the evening Benjamin Dragoo, one of the guests, who was supposed to have led in the kidnaping. the victim of a pretended arrest. He bribed the party taking him to the police station and was allowed to go after " treating his captors.

Adam, age 23 years, and Hazel, age 23 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 on 918 Ridge Court, Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, Their last name was rendered Adams.6 According to the Federal Census in 1910, Adam was an electrical engineer.6 On 12 September 1918, Adam registered for the World War I draft, while living at 111 Second Street, Aspinwall, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, giving his age as 32 and his employer as the U.S. General Hospital.1 Adam, age 33 years, and Hazel, age 33 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 on 7113 Hilldale Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.4 According to the Federal Census in 1920, Adam was an electrician.4
