William George Stein was born on 29 March 1893 at Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11 He was the son of Henry "Harry" Stein and Bernadine Wiethorn.1 William, age 8, appeared on the US Census of 1900 living at 18 Tenth Stree, Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, Henry "Harry" and Bernadine Stein.4 William, age 18, appeared on the US Census of 1910 living at 923 Clay Street, Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his widowed mother, Bernadine Stein. He was a salesman in a shoe store.12 William registered for the draft giving his age as 25 and his employer as Sharpsburg Chalfant Company. on 5 June 1917 at 923 Clay Street, Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.13

William married second on 24 August 1943 at Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Sylvia B. Cavanagh, the daughter of Clarence B. and Nancy J. (Gaumer) Buker. She was born about 1895.8 William died on 18 September 1944 at home on 1301 North Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at age 51 from a cerebral embolism.6,17,7,8,9 William was buried at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.6,17,7,8,9
