Egbert ~ King of England was born in 775 at Kingdom of Wessex.2,1,3 He was the son of Eahlmund ~ Under King of Kent and daughter of Æthelbert II. Egbert's name was also spelt Ecgbeorht.4 Egbert was crowned the Under King of Kent in 784.2

Egbert ~ King of England married Rædburh.2,1,3 In 800 at the decline of the power of King Brithric (786 - 802), Egbert was called by the voice of his countrymen to assume the Government of Wessex, and he subsequently succeeded in reducing all the Kingdoms of the Heptarchy under his sway. His reign, a long and glorious one, is memorable for the great victories he achieved over the Danes.3 Egbert was crowned the King of Wessex in 802.3,2,1 Egbert was crowned the King of all England in 827.2,1 He died on 4 February 839 at Kingdom of Wessex.2,1,3 He was buried at Winchester Cathedral, Winchester, Hampshire, England.3
