Isabelle de Clare was born before 1176.1 She was the daughter of William FitzRobert and Hawise de Beaumont.

Isabelle de Clare married John Lackland King of England, age 21 , son of Henry II Curt Mantel King of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine, on 29 August 1189.2,3,4,1,5 Isabelle and John were divorced in 1199; John divorced her on the ground of consanguinity; her grandfather, Robert, being an illegitimate son of Henry I.

On 16 December 1215, he and his brother, William, were excommunicated by the Pope. He was killed at a tournament 23 February 1216 in London, England. He was buried in Trinity Priory, Aldgate, London, England.1,5,4

Hubert married first, Beatrice de Warenne, daughter of William de Warenne and Beatrice le Pierrepont. [Hubert married second, Isabelle de Clare Countess of Gloucester] On 19 June 1221 Hubert, married third, Margaret of Scotland, daughter of William I "the Lion" King of Scotland and Ermengarde de Beaumont. He died 12 May 1243 in Banstead, Surrey, England.
