     Henry II Curt Mantel King of England was born on 5 March 1132 at Le Mans, Sarthe, Pays de la Loire, France.1,2,3,4,5,6,7 He was the son of Geoffrey V Plantagenet Count of Anjou and The Empress Matilda a Princess of England. Henry was knighted by King David of Scotland in 1149.

Henry II Curt Mantel King of England, age 21, married Eleanor of Aquitaine, daughter of William X , Duke of Aquitaine and Éléonore de Châtellerault, on 18 May 1153.1,2,3,5,7,8,9 Henry was crowned on 25 October 1154 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, England.2 He and Ida Plantagenet were in a relationship that produced offspring circa 1170. A dispute between the King and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Becket, lead to Thomas' murder in the cathedral in December 1170. A year later, Henry invaded Ireland.
