     Charles Edward Brindle was born on 29 June 1873 at United, Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3,4 He was the son of Phillip Kuhns Brindle and Sophia Blank. Charles, age 6, appeared on the US Census of 1880 living at Paradise, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, Phillip Kuhns and Sophia Brindle.5 He enlisted in Company I, 10th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard on 30 May 1898 during the Spanish American War. He was overseas from 13 August 1898 to 1 August 1899. He was discharged 22 August 1899.3,4

Charles Edward Brindle, age 27, married Lou Ellen Fox, age 31 , daughter of Jesse Weaver Fox and Frederica C. Fetter, on 25 December 1900 at Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.

Charles, age 36 years, and Lou Brindle, age 40 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 at Youngwood, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.7 According to the Federal Census in 1910, Charles was a yardmaster for the the Pennsylvania railroad.7 On 12 September 1918, Charles registered for the World War I draft, while living at Youngwood, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, giving his age as 45 and his employer as the Pennsylvania Railroad Company.6 He died on 14 June 1919 at East Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, at age 45.1,2,4 Charles was buried on 16 June 1919 at Alverton Cemetery, Alverton, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.1,2,4
