     Alice Irene Brindle was born on 29 January 1880 at Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Phillip Kuhns Brindle and Sophia Blank. Alice, age 4 months, appeared on the US Census of 1880 living at Paradise, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania,in the household of her parents, Phillip Kuhns and Sophia Brindle.4 Alice, age 20, appeared on the US Census of 1900 living at Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania,in the household of her parents, Phillip Kuhns and Sophia Brindle. She was a salesperson.1 Alice was a salesman in 1900.1 Alice, age 30, appeared on the US Census of 1910 living at 7347 Race Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,in the household of her parents, Sophia and Blank. She was a dressmaker.5 According to the Federal Census in 1910, Alice was a dress maker.5 Alice, age 39 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 on 1247 Buena Vista Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, living as a roomer with the Magorien family. She was a book keeper for a department store.6 Alice appeared on the US Census of 1940 living at 6904 Hamilton Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,in the household of her sister, Margaret M. Brindle. She is listed as a seamstress.7 Alice, age 69 years, appeared on the US Census of 1950 at 6904 Hamilton Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, She was unable to work.8 In 1951, the year Alice died, she lived at 6904 Hamilton Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.2 She died on 14 November 1951 at South Faette Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, at age 71 from carcinoma of splenic.2,9 Alice's obituary of 16 November 1951, reads:

BRINDELL—On Wednesday, Nov. 14, 1951, at 7:15 a. m., Alice Irene, daughter of the late Phillip and Sophia Blanck Brindell, of 6904 Hamilton Ave. Sister of Mrs. Margaret Smeade, and Elizabeth Goodwin. Funeral from the John Kekilty Funeral Home, 605 Brushton Ave., Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Friends invited.
