Harriet Jane Pangbourne

     Harriet Jane Pangbourne was born on 31 January 1834 at Saint John, Saint John County, New Brunswick, British North America.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of Captain Richard Pangbourne and Amy Anna Baker.

Harriet Jane Pangbourne, age 17, married Captain David C. Whelpley, age 17 , son of William Whelpley and Hannah Malone, on 28 June 1851.^4,5,2 As of 28 June 1851,her married name was Whelpley. Harriet, age 36 years, and David Whelpley, age 37 years appeared on the Canadian Census of 1871 at Lepreau, New Brunswick, Canada.⁶ Harriet, age 46 years, and David Whelpley, age 47 years appeared on the Canadian Census of 1881 at Lepreau, New Brunswick, Canada.¹ Harriet Jane Whelpley immigrated to the United States. She died on 26 March 1892 at Montpelier, Vermont, at age 58.^2,3 She was buried at Green Mount Cemetery, Montpelier, Vermont. Harriet's epitaph reads:
