Isbella Whelpley was born on 27 November 1861 at New Brunswick, British North America.1 She was the daughter of Captain David C. Whelpley and Harriet Jane Pangbourne. Isbella appeared on the Canadian Census of 1871 at Lepreau, New Brunswick, Canada, in the household of her parents, David C. and Harriet Jane Whelpley.2 Isbella appeared on the Canadian Census of 1881 at Lepreau, New Brunswick, Canada, in the household of her parents, David C. and Harriet Jane Whelpley.3
Isbella Whelpley, age 20, married Lionel Hartley Buck, age 32 , son of Walter Mansfield Buck and Charlotte Hepworth, on 19 October 1882 at the New Brunswick, Canada.
Isbella, age 29 years, and Lionel Buck, age 40 years appeared on the Canadian Census of 1891 at Upper Stewiacke, Colchester Count, Nova Scotia, Canada.6 Isbella, age 68 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 at 41st Street, San Francisco, California, living with two of her children, Lulean and Horace.7 She died on 6 June 1933 at San Francisco, California, at age 71.8,9 Isbella's obituary of 7 June 1933, reads:
