     Esther M. Rule was born in 1865 at Ellenburg, Clinton County, New York.1,2 She was the daughter of Paul François Rule and Mary Provost.1 Esther, age 1 month, appeared on the US Census of 1870 living at New York City, New York,in the household of her parents, Paul François and Mary Rule.3 Esther, age 10, appeared on the US Census of 1880 living at Altona, Clinton County, New York,in the household of her parents, Paul François and Mary Rule.4

Esther M. Rule married George A. Burnett, son of François Bonin and Zoe Babin dite LaCroix, say 1899.

As of 1899,her married name was Burnett. Esther, age 45 years, and George Burnett, age 60 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 on Cross Street, Newport, New Hampshire.5 Esther, age 55 years, and George Burnett, age 70 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 at 572 Belkamp Avenue, Newport, New Hampshire.6 Esther, age 65 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 at Newport, New Hampshire, with her two daughters, Florence and Ruth. She was a widow.7 Esther, age 75 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 at Enfield, Connecticut, with her daughter, Hazel and her family.5 Esther, age 85 years, appeared on the US Census of 1950 on 369 Pinnade Road, Ellington, Connecticut, with her daughter, Hazel, and her family.8 She died on 15 November 1957 at Vernon, Connecticut.9,2,10 Esther's obituary of 18 November 1957, reads:
