     Augusta Ann Holt was born in December 1838 at Maine.1 She was the daughter of Solomon Holt and Elizabeth Harlow. Augusta Ann Holt married Lorenzo Fred Lord, son of Samuel Lord and Hannah Farnham, in 1859. He married his late wife's sister who lived next door. Augusta, age 21 years, and Lorenzo, age 36 years, appeared on the US Census of 1860 at Hermon, Maine.3 Augusta, age 31 years, and Lorenzo, age 46 years, appeared on the US Census of 1870 at Hermon, Maine.4 Augusta, age 41 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 on 39 James Street, Bangor, Maine.5 According to the Federal Census in 1880, Augusta was a servent.5 Augusta and Lorenzo were divorced in October 1880 at Penobscot County, Maine.6 Augusta Ann Holt died in 1910.

Compeller's Notes:
Second Marriage: Many have assigned a second marriage to Augusta to Royal Franklin Holt in 1900. This is from the 1900 and 1910 Census. However, the marriage record of Royal's second marriage shows his wife's name to be Ellen Augusta Penny and her birth place to be Canaan, Maine. A review of the Vital Records of Canaan shows that Ellen Augusta Moore's first marage was to Alamander B. Penny. The two Augustas, though both born in 1838, are distinct.7,8,9
