Rufus Westley Goodell
     Rufus Westley Goodell was born on 1 May 1825 at Monroe, Massachusetts. He was the son of Harvey Goodell and Anna Sherman.

Rufus Westley Goodell married Lucinda Marsh. They had no children. Rufus Westley Goodellappeared on the US Census of 1850 in the household of Harvey Goodell and Anna Sherman at Monroe, Massachusetts.1 He lived in Peoria, Illinois for more than 50 years. Rufus was a famous railroad engineer during the Civil War. He worked on the Boston-Fitchburg, Lake Shore-Michigan Southern, and the Chicago-Rock Island-Peoria railroad. According to the Federal Census in 1850, Rufus was a farmer.1 He died on 6 June 1909 at Wenham, Massachusetts, at age 84. He was buried at Springdale Cemetery and Mausoleum, Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois.
