     Lt. Samuel Woodman was born on 19 November 1744 at Kingston, New Hampshire.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 He was the son of Joshua Woodman and Eunice Sawyer. Lt. Samuel Woodman was christened on 25 November 1744 at the First Church of Kingston, Kingston, New Hampshire.10 Samuel signed the Association Test in 1776 at Kingston, New Hampshire.3

Lt. Samuel Woodman, age 31, married Judith French, age 23 , daughter of Daniel French and Sarah Gould, on 3 September 1776 at South Hampton, New Hampshire.

After 3 September 1776 Samuel and Judith lived at Kingston, New Hampshire, on the old Woodman homestead.2 He served in the Continental Army reaching the rank of Lieutenant.4,17 Samuel was a blacksmith at Kingston, New Hampshire.4 He took Enoch Poor, the son of Moses Poor as an apprentice in his blacksmith shop on 29 September 1785 at Kingston, New Hampshire.4 Samuel was mentioned in the will of his father, Joshua Woodman on 27 January 1789 at Kingston, New Hampshire.18,4 Samuel, appeared on the US Census of 1790 at Kingston, Colony of New Hampshire. The enumeration reads:

2 - Free White Persons - Males - 16 and over
4 - Free White Persons - Males - Under 16
2 - Free White Persons - Females
8 - Number of Household Members.19


Samuel wrote his will on 24 December 1817 at Kingston, New Hampshire.4 He died on 10 June 1825 at Kingston, New Hampshire, at age 80.11,2,3,7 His will was proved on 16 June 1825 at Rockingham County, Colony of New Hampshire.18 He was buried at Plains Cemetery, Kingston, New Hampshire. Samuel's epitaph reads:

Lieut. Samuel Woodman
died
June 10, 1825
Æt 80

Come all my friends as you pass by
On my cold grave pray cast an eye
As you are now so once was I
As I am now so you must be.4,11,7
